This page started a small life as a red-schemed Renard's DW Page with John D. Moore (aka "Renard") as the lone webmaster. It originally moved into Xoom on September 9th, 1998 with a screen capture of Negaduck and a message that said "Coming Soon."

The page then grew and evolved. The layout (right) was simplistic. The front page was cluttered with messages, pictures, and a few bad jokes. Each page had a red banner with yellow text and an image on top of it. A long series of large buttons was on the bottom of every page. Eventually, when Moore learned to use tables, he replaced the graphic-intensive navigation system with a cleaner, purple "console". The sections were small, but budding -- Links, Fanfiction, "About Me", Webrings, Characters, Show Info, Sightings, .WAV files (a very small selection), TUDWEG (just starting), Darkwing Duck Pets, DW RPG, DRAW Archive, and a whole lot of links to Moore's other webpage projects.

TUDWEG, The Ultimate Darkwing Duck Episode Guide, was a concept Moore created based on his own lack of all the episodes on tape. The idea -- To provide in-depth details about every episode in the series.

At this point, the page was fairly successful, but not that popular. There was an average of about 5 or 10 visitors a day.

After taking a long break in the summer of 1999, John D. Moore came back in the Fall. He wasn't very pleased with what Xoom was doing, so he created a new format for the page (left) and moved to Crosswinds, leaving the WAV files in a cool, new, different format on Xoom. The new design was sleek and tablific. Content bloomed. The polls were introduced. Fanart became a strong feature of the site. And, most importantly, weekly updates began. Whether these were WAVs, TUDWEG entries, whatever. An update every Saturday. Sure there were a few updates the webmaster missed, but not often. Also, the page was renamed to John Renard's Darkwing Duck Page

This format lasted but a year. However, a listing on Yahoo! and other factors (content, mainly) increased its popularity. Soon, there were dozens of visitors a day. This format saw both the 5000 and 10000 hit marks, to the best of this chronicler's recollection.

New sections included things like the DW Logos Archive and the Fan Contact List.

A little less than a year after the introduction of the rounded table design, a new layout was introduced. On July 8th, 2000, John D. Moore launched the new "island window" design (right). This new design was cleaner and easier to navigate. However, the page was fundamentally the same.

Updates regularly continued till late 2000, when Moore got involved in his other projects and websites. He came back in early Spring 2001 to move the page to 9ug, just to move it less than two weeks later because of an evil advertising policy. Moved to a new account after being wiped off Crosswinds, he uploaded a new look to the site on March 17, 2001. The entire thing was uploaded April 21, 2001 with some drastic changes. The colors were shifted to a blue scheme, instead of the red. It was now called The Darkwing Duck Page and the images were easily changeable in order to make the layout more fluid. A request for staff members was necessary to assist the massive undertaking that the Page had become.

However, the page was wiped from Crosswinds accidentally and didn't return until March 20, 2002. Which brings us up to date.
